Junior guard Darren Collison (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda HS) of the UCLA men's basketball team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (January 22-27).
Collison set new career-high point totals in consecutive games this past weekend, first scoring 22 points in the 80-75 victory at Oregon and then pouring in 33 points in the 85-62 win at Oregon State. Collison's 33 points were the most by a Bruin player since Dijon Thompson scored 39 points in 2005. Collison was 9-for-12 from the field (75%) and a perfect 13-for-13 from the foul line and added three assists and three steals against the Beavers. Against Oregon, he shot 7-for-14 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line and totaled six assists.
This is Collison's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and fourth of his career.
