Three senior members of the Bruin football team have been invited to play in upcoming all-star games on January 21. Tight End Cory Harkey has accepted an invitation to play in the East/West Shrine Game, held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL, while safety Tony Dye and wide receiver/punt returner Taylor Embree will be participating in the NFLPA All-Star game, which will be held at the Home Depot Center in Carson.
Harkey is one of the top blocking tight ends in the country, while Embree ranked third on the team in receiving yards with 228. Embree also served as UCLA's primary punt returner and average 4.8 yard/return on 12 punts. He also had two touchdowns during the season, including one vs. Illinois in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Dye was a year-long captain for the Bruin football team, but was hindered by injury during his senior year. He tallied 10 tackles during the season in only five games of action.
The East/West Shrine Game will be televised live on the NFL Network at 1:30 (PT) on Jan. 21. The NFLPA Game will be televised on the NBC Sports Network, which was formerly known as Versus, at 3:00 pm (PT).
