Knoxville, Tenn. - A pair of late goals from Zakiya Bywaters and Sydney Leroux helped the No. 15 UCLA women's soccer team register a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Tennessee on Friday evening in the opening day of play at the 2011 Lady Vol Classic at Tennessee's Regal Stadium. The 2,046 fans in attendance for the match marked the fifth largest crowd in Tennessee women's soccer history.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Vols (2-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute on a 14-yard strike from Chelsea Hatcher. After receiving a pass from Kylie Bono on the right side of the box, Hatcher hooked in a ball past UCLA freshman goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland, who was playing in her first collegiate match on Friday.

The Bruins managed an equalizer at the 80:27 mark when a feed from freshman Ally Courtnall was settled by Bywaters about five yards from the goal. She pivoted quickly and managed to beat Tennessee goalkeeper Julie Eckel from a sharp angle to tie the match at 1-1.

Less than four minutes later, UCLA midfielder Samantha Mewis blasted a ball that was deflected by Eckel and back into play. Leroux found herself in the right spot near the left post to clean up the deflection from six yards out and give the Bruins an eventual 2-1 win.

Tennessee actually out-shot UCLA, 8-7 in the first half, however the Bruins dominated play the rest of the way. The Bruins (2-0) owned a 21-11 advantage in the final shot count, out-shooting the Lady Vols, 14-3 in the second half.

Rowland played the full 90 minutes in goal for UCLA, making three saves.

UCLA continues play in Tennessee on Sunday, facing No. 8 Florida at 1:30 p.m. (EST). The Gators downed Texas A&M, 3-2 on Friday.
