LOS ANGELES - Senior B.B. Bates and junior Jessica Hall each hit home runs, but the 10th-ranked Bruins saw their 10-game winning streak come to an end with an 11-5 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins (13-2) had seven hits, with Bates and Hall each producing two. In the circle, sophomore Ally Carda (8-1) dropped her first game of the season, striking out three and allowing 10 runs (seven earned), 11 hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings. Hall tossed 2/3 of a frame and gave up a run and two hits.

The Titans scored in their opening at-bat. With one out, Ariel Tsuchiyama doubled to right and scored one out later on a single to right by Eliza Crawford. In the third, Ashley Carter had a leadoff single up the middle and came home one out later on a homer to right-center by Desiree Ybarra to make it 3-0.

The Bruins tied the game with a trio of two-out runs in the bottom half of the third. Bates singled to right-center and Hall homered to left-center, her fourth of the season, to make it 3-2. Still with two down, Carda and freshman Mysha Sataraka drew back-to-back walks and freshman Brittany Moeai followed with a single to right, scoring Carda to even the score at three.

The Titans tacked on four in the top of the fourth. Fullerton loaded the bases on a Lauren Mario walk, Leesa Harris reaching on an error by sophomore Stephany LaRosa at short and Tiffany Sheffler laying down a bunt single to third. Carter then slapped a single over the head of a drawn-in Bates in left, allowing Mario and Harris to score to make it 5-3. After Tsuchiyama bounced into a force out to eliminate Sheffler at third, both Carter and Tsuchiyama moved to third and second, respectively, on a wild pitch. Ybarra would lift a sacrifice fly to left to plate Carter to increase Fullerton's lead to 6-3, while a double to left-center from Crawford plated Tsuchiyama to make it 7-3.

The Bruins cut the deficit in half with two more, two-out runs in the fourth. Sophomore Gracie Goulder reached on an infield single to short with one out and scored one out later on a homer to center by Bates, her 11th of the season, to make it 7-5.

Fullerton added three more in the fifth. With the bases loaded and one out, Tsuchiyama drew a walk to force home Harris to make it 8-5. Ybarra then doubled to right to plate Sheffler and Carter to extend the advantage to 10-5. The Titans brought in another run in the seventh when Crawford scored Carter on a sacrifice fly to make it 11-5.

The Bruins head south to the San Diego Classic I this weekend. UCLA faces Fresno State on Friday at 2 p.m. at San Diego State, Boise State (11:30 a.m.) and San Diego (2 p.m.) on Saturday at USD and New Mexico (11:30 a.m.) and San Diego State (2 p.m.) at SDSU on Sunday.
