UCLA students will have an opportunity to see the Bruin men's and women's basketball teams in action a week prior to their season openers during "Pauley Opening Madness" on Friday, Nov. 2. The event, part of the 2012 Homecoming Festival, will take place in New Pauley Pavilion, beginning at 6:30 pm.
Hosted by UCLA Recreation for the UCLA student body, "Pauley Opening Madness" will feature each of the five teams that call Pauley Pavilion home - men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball and gymnastics. The basketball teams, which will play their first games in New Pauley Pavilion on Nov. 9 (men) and Nov. 10 (women), will participate in drills and skills competitions.
The men's volleyball and gymnastics teams, whose seasons begin in January, will also participate and be introduced by their head coaches. The defending NCAA champion women's volleyball team will be on the road that evening and will be introduced via video. Women's volleyball's first match in Pauley Pavilion will be Nov. 16 vs. Stanford.
Other activities taking place at "Pauley Opening Madness" include student performances, contests, giveaways, and more.
Everyone in attendance will receive a commemorative souvenir.
Tickets to the event are free and available for pickup at the UCLA Central Ticket Office with current BruinCard.
