Head Coach Carrie Forsyth, who led the Bruins to the NCAA championship this past season, was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year as announced by the conference on Wednesday.

This is the 4th time in her tenure as UCLA head coach that Forsyth has been named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year and the 6th time that a UCLA head coach has won the award. In 2011, she led the Bruins to six tournament victories, including wins at the NCAA Central Regional and the NCAA Championship. Overall, she now has 40 tournament victories as head coach of the UCLA women's golf team. She also saw all five of her starting golfers earn Pac-10 All-Conference honors in 2011, with Stephanie Kono, Lee Lopez and Tiffany Lua earning first-team honors and Glory Yang and Ani Gulugian receiving second-team honors. In addition, Coach Forsyth saw four of her golfers (Kono, Lopez, Lua and Yang) earn NGCA All-American honors in 2011. In her 12 seasons as head coach, she has coached 15 different UCLA players that have earned 24 All-America honors, including 12 first-team selections. She capped off the year by winning the school's third NCAA title in women's golf.

The women's golf title in 2011 represented UCLA's national best 107th NCAA team championship and the school's 36th NCAA championship in women's athletics.
