Recap |  Final Stats |  Quotes

*UCLA now leads the all-time series against Arizona, 19-10-2.

*UCLA has now won 10 straight games at the Rose Bowl, its longest streak since 1997-99, when it won 13 consecutive games.

*UCLA's defense held Arizona to -13 yards rushing, the lowest opponent total since allowing only -34 rushing yards at Stanford on Nov. 1, 1997. UCLA's last negative rushing defense total came on Oct. 13, 2001 against Washington (-8 yards).

*UCLA has held its last four opponents to fewer than 60 yards rushing (Rice: 53, Washington: 49, Stanford: 49, Arizona: -13).

*UCLA has held its last five opponents (Utah, 287; Rice, 184; Washington, 249; Stanford, 166; Arizona, 222) to less than 300 yards total offense. The last time the Bruins held five straight opponents under 300 was in 1992 (San Diego State, Arizona, Stanford, Washington State and Arizona State).

*Backup quarterback Patrick Cowan went 4-4 with a touchdown and threw for 38 yards in his first offensive series of the game after replacing an injured Ben Olson (sprained left knee) in the first quarter. Cowan finished the game completing 20-29 passes for 201 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

*Freshman cornerback Alterraun Verner returned his second interception for a touchdown this season, an 89-yard return that ranks seventh on UCLA's all-time list for longest interception returns for touchdowns. The 89-yard return is the longest interception return for a touchdown since Abdul McCullough returned an interception for a 98-yard touchdown at Arizona State on Nov. 12, 1994.

*Verner joins only five other Bruins who have returned an interception for a touchdown twice in one season (Spencer Havner, 2002; Blanchard Montgomery, 1982; Brian Baggott, 1978; Jerry Robinson, 1976; John Brown, 1958).

*Verner's return tied for the longest interception return by an Arizona opponent, matching the record held by Wayne Soffe of BYU in 1936.

*UCLA running back Chris Markey moved up to 27th on UCLA's career rushing chart with 1,403 rushing yards.

*UCLA wide receiver Junior Taylor had three receptions today to move into a tie with Kurt Altenberg for 17th on UCLA's career receptions chart with 87. Taylor also moved up the career receiving yards chart to 19th with 1,143 career yards after compiling 34 receiving yards.
