The Tallahassee, FL Quarterback Club Foundation announced today that UCLA senior wide receiver Nelson Rosario has been added to the Fred Biletnikoff Award Watch List. Rosario has started the first six games of the 2011 season and leads the Bruins in receptions with 26 for 480 receiving yards, an 18.5 yard-per-catch average. He ranks 49th in the nation in receiving yards per game (80.0) and is eighth in the Pac-12 conference.
Rosario grabbed three balls for 120 yards in last week's win over Washington State and is now ranked tied for 13th all-time on the school list with 108 career catches and has also moved into 13th place on UCLA's all-time receiving yards list. Earlier this season, he made a season-high eight catches at Stanford for 83 yards. He opened the season by making three catches at Houston for 87 yards, including an incredible 54-yard catch early in the second half.
The recipient of the 2011 Biletnikoff Award will be announced live on ESPN on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, December 8th. The Biletnikoff Award Presentation Banquet will be held at the University Center Club at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday, February 11, 2012.
The award is named for Fred Biletnikoff, the Florida State University All-America receiver and a Pro-Football Hall of Famer. The award has been given out for the past 16 years.
