PULLMAN, Wash. - Senior Rachael Kidder led all players with 18 kills, senior Tabi Love added 10 kills and no errors in 19 attempts for a .526 hitting percentage and sophomore Zoë Nightingale hit .571 on nine kills, as the fourth-ranked Bruins swept Washington State on Friday at Bohler Gym. Set scores were 25-17, 25-13, 25-15.

The Bruins improve to 10-3 overall and 2-2 in Pac-12 play, while the Cougars fall to 10-5 and 0-3 in league action.

Kidder added eight digs and hit .429 for the match, as the Bruins hit .468 as a team. Sophomore Karsta Lowe was 5-for-7 in kills with no errors (.714), sophomore Megan Moenoa posted 41 assists and five digs and senior Bojana Todorovic notched 11 digs.

The Cougars scored the first point of the match, but five in a row for the Bruins on two kills by Love, a kill and an ace by Nightingale and a Kidder kill made it 5-1. Up 11-7, the Bruins went on a 3-0 run on a kill by Moenoa, a WSU attack error and a Love kill to take a 14-7 advantage. Washington State cut its deficit to three at 16-13, but four in a row for the Bruins on two Cougar errors, a combo block by Lowe and Nightingale and a Lowe kill made it 20-13.

Leading 20-15, the Bruins scored five of the last seven points of the set on kills by Lowe and Nightingale and three WSU errors, including a ball handling miscue on UCLA's first set point, to finish a 25-17 victory. Love led the Bruins with five kills on no errors in nine attempts, Kidder added four kills and seven digs and Nightingale posted three kills, as the Bruins out-hit the Cougars .500 to .259.

Just like the first set, Washington State's biggest lead of the second was one at 1-0 and 2-1. Back-to-back kills by Nightingale made it 3-2 UCLA, and despite four more ties in the set, the Bruins broke it open to go up 2-0 in the match. Tied at six, UCLA scored five straight and eight of nine to take a 14-7 lead. Three kills by Kidder, an ace from junior Meg Norton and a WSU attack error made it 11-6. After a Cougar sideout, a kill by freshman Hannah Boland and consecutive attack errors put the Bruins up by seven.

The Cougars scored the next two, but the Bruins responded with a 5-1 run on two kills by Kidder, a Love solo block and a pair of combo roofs from Moenoa and Nightingale to make it 19-10. Up 20-12, UCLA scored five of the last six points on two kills by Kidder, a WSU attack error and kills by Love and junior Kelly Reeves (set clincher) to win the second 25-13. Kidder led the Bruins with eight kills, while Love added three on no errors in four swings. The Bruins out-hit the Cougars .467 to .032.

UCLA never trailed in the third to finish off the sweep, scoring six of the first eight points of the set on two kills and an ace by Kidder, kills by Boland and Nightingale and a WSU attack error. The Cougars got to within a pair on a few occasions, but would get no closer. Leading 11-8, the Bruins scored six in a row to go up by nine. Kidder had three kills during the run and teamed up with Nightingale for a block, while Lowe added a kill and the Cougars committed an attack error to make it 17-8.

Up 18-12, the Bruins scored seven of the last 10 points of the match to win the third 25-15. Nightingale had two kills during the last 7-3 run, Boland, Kidder, Love and Moenoa each added a kill and WSU committed an attack error on UCLA's first match point. Kidder paced the Bruins with six kills in the third, Nightingale added four and Lowe posted three. Todorovic added seven digs, as the Bruins out-hit the Cougars .441 to .128.

The Bruins return to the John Wooden Center next week to face the Arizona schools.
