Sophomore defensive back Rahim Moore (Los Angeles, CA/Dorsey HS) of the UCLA football team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 7.
In the season opening win over San Diego State, Moore made three interceptions to tie the UCLA single-game record held by Ron Carver (Texas 1971), Craig Rutledge (Oregon State 1986) and Darryl Henley (Oregon State 1986). He also broke up a fourth pass and made one solo tackle. For his efforts, Moore was named Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week and was also nominated for the AT&T All-America Player of the Week Award.
This is Moore's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
