Los Angeles - Top-seeded Benjamin Kohlloeffel won two matches Saturday to advance to Sunday's final at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Pepperdine University.
Kohlloeffel began the day with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over teammate Chris Surapol in the quarterfinals. He followed that up with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 decision over ASU's Ryan McBride in the semifinals. McBride was coming off a three-set win over Bruin sophomore Mathieu Dehaine in the previous round. Kohlloeffel will face Arizona's Roger Matalonga for the title on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
UCLA's Philipp Gruendler and Kohlloeffel are in the semifinals of the doubles draw. Next up for them is Pepperdine's Ivor Lovrak/Pedro Rico. Two rounds of doubles will be played on Sunday.
