As the Director of Basketball Administration, Erickson is responsible for all internal operations of the basketball program and serves as a liaison between the coaches and the department administrators. He is involved in the day-to-day operations of the team, including budgetary matters, travel, film, meals, ticketing and team managers.
Erickson organizes and serves as co-director of the UCLA basketball camps each summer. He helps coordinate every aspect of the camp, including housing, meals and camp speakers.
UCLA's most recent basketball camps were the largest in its history, attracting more than 1,300 campers over a two-month period each of the last three years.
The Bruins have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 16 times, reached four Final Fours, won the 1995 NCAA Championship and captured seven Pac-12 titles during Erickson's tenure at UCLA. He joined the staff in 1992 after serving as an accountant for two years at Cadence Design Systems, a leading semiconductor company in San Jose, Calif.
Erickson is a native of Eureka, Calif., where he played four years of basketball and graduated from Eureka High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics at San Jose State in 1990. His career was shaped by his family, where all six members played basketball at one time or another.
