Scott Mitchell is an Associate Athletic Director/Director of Marketing & Business Development. He oversees the UCLA Marketing Department, which consists of four full-time staff members; several full-time interns; 12 graduate and undergraduate students and 10 to 15 telemarketing representatives.

Mitchell's areas of responsibility include UCLA ticket sales, alternative revenue generation, brand marketing, advertising and promotion for 24 Bruin sports teams, website overview, liaison with licensing and apparel, liaison with spirit support and the band, and oversight for UCLA's community relations programs "I'm Going To College", "Athletics for Youth", "Adopt A Classroom" and "Read to Succeed". Both football and men's basketball revenues have increased to record numbers in each of the past five years. Season ticket sales and attendance have increased dramatically during Mitchell's tenure. The 2008 season marked the first time in UCLA history that over a half-million fans watched the Bruins play at the Rose Bowl.

Mitchell is the founder of the "I'm Going To College" program, the nation's largest collegiate community outreach program, which now impacts 50,000 youngsters annually. He was the creator of the "Supershot", the student promotion that runs at halftime of every UCLA basketball game, and behind the formation of "The Den", UCLA's student/fan support group. Mitchell is responsible for the tagline, "Champions Made Here", which UCLA has built into a multi-year branding campaign.

Mitchell is the Chair of Marketing for NCAA Football's Promotions and Brand Marketing Committee. He was a member of the five-person Pac-10 Properties Board from its inception. He has served in a number of leadership and administrative roles on behalf of UCLA and the Pac-12 Conference over the past 20 years.

A 1981 graduate of the University of Utah and a former student athlete (baseball), Mitchell is the father of three children, Windy, Courtney and Kelsey.
