The Youth Track & Field Academies are offered as an opportunity for children of every ability level to get involved in the sport. The academies are appropriate for all ability levels, including those who have never before participated in track and field. Campers will try their hand at multiple running and field events including the high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin and hurdles. Some sessions will also include a beginner's introduction into the pole vault for those interested. The focus is on finding each camper's individual strengths, while having fun out at the track!

The Blue & Gold Track & Field Camps are all inclusive camps offered by the UCLA Track & Field coaching staff. These camps are designed for high school athletes to help increase their ability to execute the proper techniques and mechanincs required to excel in each event. Counselors will work closely with small groups of athletes in each event to provide instruction catered to the ability level of each group. Campers will advance through higher levels of instruction as their track & field knowledge increases. Come learn from the best coaches in the country and work side-by-side with UCLA's current and former athletes. Champions are made here!

Coach Anthony Curran's UCLA Pole Vault Camps are residential camps open to vaulters of all ability levels, including beginners - no experience necessary! Our staff will feature both current and former UCLA vaulters, led by pole vault/jumps coach Anthony Curran. Instruction includes vault drills such as high bar, rings, ropes and scaffold vaults. For most vaulting sessions, the camp will concentrate on drills and exercises from shorter runs using smaller poles. This will make it easier to learn proper technique and result in safer and higher vaulting. The groups will be divided into small groups that fit each athlete's ability. The advanced vaulters will focus on technical training and vault mechanics from longer approaches. The goal is to learn the advanced secrets to becoming a competitive collegiate vaulter. There will also be lectures on strength and conditioning for all levels, as well as video analysis and discussion sessions. Poles are provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own, if possible.

The Elite High School Sprints & Hurdles Camp provides athletes with the chance to improve their speed and technique on the track. This camp is appropriate for varsity-level sprinters and hurdlers. The camp will be run by Assistant Coach - Sprints/Hurdles/Relays Joanna Hayes and Volunteer Coach - Hurdles Darrell Smith, Jr. Campers will be working with some of the premier coaches in the country, and some current Bruin sprinters and hurdlers too! Evening activities for resident campers include watching films, hearing from guest speakers, and discussing the demands (both on and off the track) of being a college-athlete. This camp is great for 100m, 200m, 400m, 110H, 400H.

The camps are conducted primarily at Drake Stadium, home of the UCLA Bruins Track & Field teams. Day camp fees do not include meals; campers should bring a lunch from home, or money to purchase one from the food court in nearby Ackerman Student Union. IF YOUR CAMPER IS INJURED WHILE AT CAMP

  • If the proper doctor's note is provided, you will receive a credit towards 20126 Track & Field camps, for a pro-rated amount of the camp cost minus (-) the time spent in camp.

  • For campers that leave camp due to voluntary withdrawal or dismissal from camp, there will be no refunds of any kind. Some examples of voluntary withdrawal consist of, but are not limited to - homesickness, doctor's appointment, birthday parties, school functions, etc.

*Future Camp Credit will count towards 2016 Track & Field Camps and cannot roll over beyond 2016. A credit can ONLY be used for a future camp and cannot be refunded.

If you register your child for camp and they do not attend, you will not receive a refund. ALL cancellations must be submitted in writing (by fax or email). You will receive an emailed confirmation of your cancellation request once it has been received. No-shows on any day of camp will NOT be refunded/credited for any reason. Camp dismissal can occur for any violation of the camper's code of conduct.
