LOS ANGELES - Senior B.B. Bates, junior Jessica Hall and freshman Mysha Sataraka each homered, while Hall struck out a season-high nine and combined with freshman Paige McDuffee to get the victory, as the 16th-ranked Bruins bounced back with a 7-5 win over #4 Oregon on Saturday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins (32-16, 8-12 Pac-12) had seven hits, as freshman Allexis Bennett recorded her fourth-straight, multiple-hit contest with a pair of singles.

In the circle, Hall (6-5) struck out a batter in each of her first five innings, including the side in the second and fifth frames. She allowed four runs, eight hits and four walks in 5 2/3 innings. McDuffee earned her second save of the year, striking out one and allowing one run and four hits in 1 1/3 frames of relief.

The Ducks scored a pair in the second. With one out, Janelle Lindvall doubled to left-center and came home on a Koral Costa home run to center to make it 2-0.

UCLA struck back with three in its half of the second, all with two outs. Senior Devon Lindvall singled to left, freshman Brittany Moeai walked and sophomore Gracie Goulder blooped a double that landed on the right-field chalk line to plate Lindvall with the Bruins' first run. Bennett followed with a single up the middle to bring in Moeai and Goulder to put UCLA up 3-2.

In the third, the Bruins left the yard three times. First it was Bates, who hit the initial pitch of the inning over the wall in right for her 19th homer of the season. After a walk to sophomore Ally Carda, Sataraka homered to straightaway center for her seventh of the year to make it 6-2. Hall then made it back-to-back for the Bruins, hitting her seventh of the season to left to put the Bruins up 7-2.

Having left two on base in the first, the Ducks wasted the bases loaded in the fourth and fifth. In the fourth, Hall bailed herself out of a jam after committing a throwing error that gave Oregon second and first with no outs. One out later, a single by Danica Mercado loaded the bases. But Hall induced Janie Takeda into a grounder to first, with Carda coming home to force Alexa Peterson. Hall then struck out Courtney Ceo to end the threat.

In the fifth, Kaylan Howard led off with a double, but Hall struck out Kailee Cuico. After Samantha Pappas was hit by a pitch, Hall fanned Peterson for the second out. A single up the middle by Lindvall loaded the bases and a walk to Costa forced home Howard to make it 7-3. But Hall struck out Jamie Rae Sullivan to again strand the bases full of Ducks.

In the sixth, the Ducks cut their deficit to three with a two-out run. Howard walked, Cuico singled and Pappas singled home Howard to make it 7-4.

In the top of the seventh, Oregon scored once, but had a runner go too far off the bag to end the game in dramatic fashion. Lindvall led off with a single to right and was pinch-run for by Alyssa Gillespie. One out later, Allie Burger beat out a slap single to the right side. Takeda would slice a ball into shallow left, but UCLA's Lindvall was able to make a diving catch for the second out. Ceo then had an excuse-me swing back to the circle on a 2-2 inside pitch and was able to beat it out to load the bases. Howard followed with a single up the middle, but LaRosa dove and knocked it down before allowing it to get into the outfield. Gillespie scored on the play, however Goulder picked up the ball by the second-base bag and fired to third to Sataraka, as Burger rounded too far and was tagged out to end the game.

The Bruins and the Ducks finish their three-game series on Sunday at 12 p.m. Less than 100 tickets will be made available for the contest at the Easton Stadium ticket office 90 minutes prior to first pitch (10:30 a.m.) on a first-come first-serve basis.
