Eight Bruins Named to All-Pac-12 Conference Teams

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Eight Bruins were named to the All-Pac-12 Conference teams on Wednesday. B.B. Bates, Ally Carda and Stephany LaRosa were named All-Pac-12 First Team, Allexis Bennett, Jessica Hall and Mysha Sataraka were Honorable Mention and Bennett, Sataraka, Paige McDuffee and Brittany Moeai earned All-Freshman honors.

Bates and LaRosa each earn their second consecutive, First Team honors, while it is the third overall award for Bates, who was named Honorable Mention as a sophomore. Carda picks up her maiden First Team award and Hall earned her second All-Pac-12 honor after being named Honorable Mention a year ago. Bennett, McDuffee, Moeai and Sataraka receive their initial all-conference nods.

Bates leads the Bruins with 24 home runs, 72 runs batted in, an .893 slugging, a .468 on base percentage, 52 runs scored, 13 doubles, 19 multiple-RBI games and eight hit by pitches. The senior is also tied for first with 19 multi-hit contests, second with a .363 average and tied for second with 27 walks.

LaRosa is tops on the squad with a .378 batting average and four triples, is second with a .456 on base percentage, a .733 slugging, 50 RBI, 48 runs and 11 doubles and third with 15 homers. The sophomore is also tied for first with 19 multiple-hit games, second with 14 multi-RBI contests and fourth with 24 walks.

Carda holds a 22-10 record with a 2.37 earned run average and 202 strikeouts in 186 1/3 innings in the circle and a .340 average with 16 homers, 47 RBI, 39 runs and 27 walks at the plate. The sophomore set a school record by reaching base in 38 straight games and has also struck out at least seven in 13 contests.

Hall has started all 55 games and is hitting .234 with eight homers, 26 RBI, 21 runs and a team-leading 35 walks. In the circle, the junior is 9-6 with a 2.94 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 126 innings.

Bennett has started 52 games in center field and is hitting .338 with eight RBI, 29 runs scored, five doubles and a team-best 13 stolen bases.

McDuffee has appeared in 19 contests in the circle, starting 13, and is 6-2 with two saves, a 2.46 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 62 2/3 innings.

Moeai has started all 53 games she has played in and is batting .237 with 13 runs batted in, eight doubles and 14 walks.

Sataraka is batting .303 in 37 games with eight home runs, 24 runs batted in, 18 runs scored, seven doubles and 17 walks.
