Sophomore Kylie Price (Chino Hills, Calif./Bishop Amat HS) of the UCLA women's track and field team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (May 20-26).
Price qualified to the NCAA Championships in two events - long jump and 100m - and also ran in the 4x100m relay at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas. In the preliminary heat, Price set a new personal best in the 100m, finishing in a wind-aided (3.0) time of 11.32, her fastest time under all conditions. She earned a NCAA berth in the quarterfinals by placing second in her heat with a time of 11.65. She tied for seventh place in the long jump with a mark of 6.28/20-7.25 to qualify in that event for the second consecutive year. Additionally, she ran the second leg in the 4x100m Relay, an event that the Bruins missed out on qualifying by .002 seconds.
This is Price's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
