On episode 4 of season 2.5 of The Reeves Report, junior Kelly Reeves talks about this weekend's trip to Alabama for the AVCA Collegiate Sand Championships and what it means to her to be a part of the first sand volleyball team in UCLA history.

Reeves, along with fellow junior teammate Meg Norton, as well as the duo of sophomore Zoë Nightingale and freshman Becca Strehlow, are each a part of the "Best of the Rest" portion of the Pairs Championship for the AVCA Collegiate Sand Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Norton and Reeves are a part of Pool A with four other pairs teams and will play twice on both Friday and Saturday. On Friday, they will face Pacific's Hannah Clancy and Katarina Schulz at 11 a.m. CT, followed by a 2 p.m. CT matchup with UAB's Bethanie Thomas and Kiriana Hirini. On Saturday, Norton and Reeves are back in action at 10 a.m. CT against FIU's Jessica Mendoza and Maryna Samoday, and conclude pool play at 1 p.m. CT against Georgia State's Lane Carico and Katie Madewell.

In Pool B, Nightingale and Strehlow start things off with an 11 a.m. CT match on Friday against FIU's Kate Stepanova and Ksenia Sukhareva, followed by a 3 p.m. CT contest versus Loyola Marymount's Felicia Arriola and Litara Keil. On Saturday, the duo plays two more times, facing Jacksonville's Sammie Strausbaugh and Taylor Nyquist at 9 a.m. CT and Saint Mary's Dalas Dodd and Jordan Shaw at 10 a.m. CT.

The best two pairs records from each pool will advance to Sunday's 16-team championship bracket. Ten of those spots are reserved for the #1 pairs squads from the six representing the AVCA Team Championship (Pepperdine, Long Beach State, Florida State, USC, North Florida and Louisiana-Monroe), as well as the #2 pairs squads from the four teams that make the semifinals.

The other six spots for Sunday's 16-team championship bracket will come from the "Best of the Rest" portion of the Pairs Championship. Along with the four automatic qualifiers from pool play (top two teams from Pools A and B), the third-place pool play finishers will get a second chance to reach the 16-team bracket, as they will face the #2 pairs teams that didn't automatically qualify for the 16-team bracket. A layout of Sunday's schedule will be posted on in the event either or both UCLA pairs make it.

(Editor's note: If you are able to fully understand the above, credit to you, because trying to figure out a way to explain in words was needless to say complicated).

Every attempt will be made to make live updates available, which will be available at
