The Bruins return numerous major contributors from last year's squad that won its second straight Pac-12 title and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 30th consecutive year. Leading the Bruins in 2013 will be senior forward Reed Williams, who was a third-team NSCAA All-West Region selection and a first-team All-Pac-12 honoree. Williams finished tied for the team lead in goals with seven in 2012 while recording 18 points as well (7 g, 4 a). Also returning up front is senior Victor Chavez, who was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2012 after scoring five goals for the Bruins. Chavez led the Pac-12 as freshman with 10 goals in 2010.

On the defensive side, senior Joe Sofia will anchor the UCLA defense after starting 19 games a year ago and leading the team with 1,789 minutes. Senior Patrick Matchett also returns for UCLA after battling injuries in 2012 and will look to make a big impact in 2013. In the midfield, sophomore Grady Howe is back after playing in all 19 games a year ago and earning second-team Freshman All-America honors from College Soccer News. 2012 first-team All-Pac-12 honoree Leo Stolz returns as well after finishing second in the Pac-12 in assists with eight in 2012. Finally, senior Victor Munoz is back in the midfield after playing in 14 games last season and recording one goal and five assists.

In goal, junior Earl Edwards returns after starting 15 games a year ago and posting a record of 10-3-2 with four shutouts and 61 saves.

The Bruins will also bring in the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation this fall. UCLA's 2013 freshman class features four players who were ranked in the top 25 in College Soccer News's list of Top Recruits for the 2013 season, including six players who have experience playing with their respective Youth National Teams.
