UCLA Continues To Climb In Directors' Cup Standings

LOS ANGELES - UCLA has climbed into fourth place in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup (LSDC) standings announced today, trailing Stanford (which has already clinched the top spot), Florida and Michigan.

The final Directors' Cup standings will be released at the conclusion of the College World Series later this month.

Most recently, UCLA earned 50 points when the women's track and field team placed 20th at the recently-completed NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and another 63.8 when the men's team finished 12th overall. The Bruins now boast a total of 1127.25 points.

The Bruins finished third in the overall standings during the 2011-12 school year.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women's and 10 men's. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website:
