BRAMPTON, Ontario, Canada - UCLA's Paige McDuffee and Mysha Sataraka have helped the USA Softball Junior Women's National Team to an undefeated record in pool play and the top seed heading into the playoffs at the International Softball Federation (ISF) X Junior Women's World Championships.

Sataraka has reached base in all six games and is hitting .533 (8-for-15) with a team-best three home runs and 14 runs batted in. She has also scored seven runs, recorded three doubles and walked a team-high three times.

Sataraka began the tournament with a two-run double in Team USA's 10-0 win over Great Britain on Monday. The next day versus the Czech Republic in a 13-0 victory, she reached in all three of her plate appearances with a pair of three-run homers and a walk.

Team USA played a pair of doubleheaders on Wednesday and Thursday. Against Puerto Rico (July 3), Sataraka left the yard again on another three-run shot, adding a single and scoring twice in a 15-0 triumph. Later that day against the hometown team from Canada, she drove in a run on an RBI single in a 4-0 win.

On Thursday, Team USA posted wins over Korea (10-0) and New Zealand (7-0). Sataraka had a pair of doubles in three at-bats against Korea, scoring twice and driving in two. She added two walks in three plate appearances versus New Zealand.

McDuffee has appeared in two of the six games in the circle, tossing six scoreless innings and striking out five, allowing just two hits.

McDuffee made her debut in the opener against Great Britain, tossing a scoreless fourth inning and allowing one hit.

She picked up the win in a complete-game shutout on Thursday against New Zealand, striking out five and giving up only one hit. McDuffee had 1-2-3 innings in the second, third and fourth, striking out one in the second, two in the third and one each in the fourth and fifth.

Team USA is under the tutelage of a pair of former Bruins, head coach Tairia Flowers and assistant Lisa Dodd.
