LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men’s basketball team will face Nevada and Northwestern on back-to-back days as part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena on Nov. 28-29.

UCLA will take on Nevada at 4:30 p.m. (PT) on Thursday, Nov. 28, in a game televised by ESPN3. The Bruins will face Northwestern at 8:30 p.m. (PT) on Friday, Nov. 29, before a national television audience on ESPN2.

The Bruins’ regional round contests of the Las Vegas Invitational include matchups versus Morehead State on Friday, Nov. 22 and Tennessee-Chattanooga on Sunday, Nov. 24 in Pauley Pavilion.

UCLA finished the 2012-13 season as Pac-12 regular-season champions, totaling a 25-10 overall record after a second round loss to Minnesota in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins return six of their primary eight contributors from one year ago, including three of five starters. New head coach Steve Alford will look to help UCLA secure its third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons.

Nevada posted a 12-19 mark in 2012-13 after having gone 28-7 with a first-place Mountain West Conference finish in 2011-12. Guided by fifth-year head coach Dave Carer, the Wolf Pack will be led by senior guard Deonte Burton, who has started all 98 games in his career and averaged 16.3 points and 3.6 assists per game in 2012-13.

Northwestern will enter the 2013-14 campaign under the direction of first-year head coach Chris Collins, who spent the previous 13 seasons on the coaching staff at Duke. Heading a list of 13 returning players for Northwestern is redshirt senior Drew Crawford, who earned third-team All-Big Ten honors in 2011-12 while averaging 16.1 points per game. Northwestern finished 13-19 last season.

Morehead State compiled a 15-18 mark in 2012-13, finishing fifth in the East Division of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Tennessee-Chattanooga went 13-19 last season, finishing fifth in the North Division of the Southern Conference. UCLA has never before played Morehead State or Tennessee-Chattanooga.
