The UCLA men's soccer team played its first exhibition match of the 2013 season on Saturday afternoon, earning a 3-0 win over Westmont College at the North Athletic Field on the UCLA campus.

Sophomore transfer Jordan Vale got the scoring started for the Bruins in the 18th minute, finishing a beautiful cross from junior Leo Stolz with a one-time volley to the upper right-hand corner to put UCLA ahead 1-0. Then just before the end of the first half, senior Max Estrada curled a ball to the far corner to make it 2-0 Bruins going into the break.

With five minutes to go in the match, Ryan Lee increased UCLA's lead to three after controlling the ball off of a corner kick, moving past the defender and slotting one past the keeper for a goal.

Vale, Stolz and seniors Victor Munoz and Victor Chavez each recorded an assist in the match while junior goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. made one save.

UCLA will kick off the 2013 season at the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic in Bloomington, Ind. The Bruins, ranked No. 9 in the NSCAA preseason poll, will begin the tournament with a match against 7th-ranked Notre Dame on Friday, Aug. 30 at 3 p.m. PT before taking on top-ranked and defending NCAA champion Indiana on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 12 p.m. PT.
