Senior midfielder Jenna Richmond (Centreville, Va./Centreville HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (Aug. 19-25).
Richmond scored two goals in each of UCLA's victories this weekend. Against Northeastern, she scored on a nice finish after receiving a cross from Taylor Smith in the 54th minute to round out UCLA's scoring in a 4-0 victory. In the 3-0 win over Cal State Northridge, she scored the game-winning goal just 2:15 into the contest, taking a clearance from a Matador defender outside the box and firing it into the upper right corner of the goal for her second goal in the short season. Richmond is tied for the team lead in goals (2) and points (4) thus far in 2013. She had zero goals a year ago but led the team in assists with seven.
This is Richmond's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.
