Danner earned UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honors after helping UCLA remain undefeated at 11-0 with a win at the NorCal Invitational. Danner and the Bruins shut down four ranked teams en route to the title. Danner had seven saves in three quarters in a 17-4 win over No. 16 Concordia and nine saves in the game in a 10-4 win over No. 6 UC Santa Barbara. In the semifinals, UCLA handed No. 4 California its first loss of the season, 6-5, as Danner racked up 12 stops in four quarters. He also played the entire game in the 9-8 championship victory over No. 1 USC, registering 12 saves while handing the Trojans their first loss in 41 games (dating back to the 2011 season). For the NorCal Invitational, Danner averaged 10.67 saves per game and posted a goals against average of 5.33. He led UCLA with seven steals in the four games and added four assists.
For the play of the week, the UCLA football team paid tribute to a fallen teammate by taking the field for the first offensive play with just 10 men. Wide receiver Shaquelle Evans ran off the field before the ball was snapped to give a symbolic start to Nick Pasquale, who passed away September 8.
