LOS ANGELES – The No. 11 ranked UCLA football team continued its preparations for the Pac-12 home opener against Cal with a Tuesday practice in full pads at Spaulding Field.
The Bruins lead the series, 50-32-1. This is the highest a Bruin team has been ranked going into the annual battle with Cal since the fourth-ranked 2001 Bruin squad tamed the Golden Bears, 56-17, in the Rose Bowl. UCLA has captured five of the last six meetings played in the Rose Bowl (Cal 45-26 win in ‘09).
The two teams will face off on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m., in the Rose Bowl. ESPN2 will air the contest as Mike Patrick will have the call and be joined by Ed Cunningham in the booth and Jeannine Edwards on the sideline.
