The Bruins had kills from sophomore Maddy Klineman, Stauber, Reeves, freshman Claire Felix and Aquino, who also teamed up with Felix and Klineman on a pair of blocks. The Wildcats came back to tie the score at 11, but a 4-1 Bruin run put them ahead 15-12. A Felix kill and a UA attack error made it 13-11, and after a sideout, consecutive Lowe kills put UCLA up by three.

Arizona responded though with runs of 5-0, 9-1 and 11-2 to go ahead 23-17. The Wildcats would take the second 25-20. Lowe paced the Bruins with three kills, as UCLA, which had nine different players record at least one kill, still out-hit Arizona .245 to .220. Drolson added seven digs.
