Junior Leo Stolz has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3, as announced by the publication today.
Stolz led the Bruins to a big weekend, helping send UCLA to the top of the Pac-12 table. After playing 57 minutes in UCLA’s 2-1 win over Stanford on Friday, he scored the game-winner against No. 1 California on Sunday. The German midfielder uncorked a twisting shot to the upper right-hand corner in the 70th minute to propel the Bruins to the 2-1 victory over the top-ranked Golden Bears. Overall, Stolz leads the Bruins with seven goals and 19 points on the season.
This is the second time this season that Stolz has been selected to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, as he previoulsy earned the weekly honor for the week of Sept. 9-15.
The Bruins improved to 10-3-4 over the weekend with their two wins and are currently ranked No. 1 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer. UCLA is off this week and will return to the pitch on Saturday, Nov. 16 to play San Diego State in the regular season finale at 7 p.m.
