By: UCLA Athletics

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA football team continued its preparations for the Friday night contest against Washington with an early morning practice in shells, Wednesday from Spaulding Field.

During the practice it was announced that senior linebacker Anthony Barr was named a Walter Camp “Player to Watch” for Player of the Year and a Lott IMPACT Trophy semifinalist. The Walter Camp list is comprised of 15 student-athletes while Barr was one of nine named to the Lott Trophy list.

The Bruins lead the series against the Huskies, 38-30-2. The teams have not met since the 2010 season, a 24-7 Washington win in Seattle. UCLA captured the last meeting in the Rose Bowl, a 24-23 decision in 2009. The Bruins have come away with seven straight home wins in the series.

The game will kickoff at 6:01 p.m. PT and be televised by ESPN2 with Carter Blackburn (play by play), Danny Kanell (color) and Allison Williams (field reporter) calling the action.
