LAS VEGAS. - Junior Ally Loper had the best Bruin finish of the evening in the 200 Freestyle, while senior Anna Senko and freshman Madison White each posted NCAA 'B' qualifying times during day two of the UNLV Fall Invitational on Friday.

Four of the five Bruins in the 400 Individual Medley, the first preliminary swim of the morning, made the evening finals. Junior Kacey Milligan (4:25.75, 11th) and senior Lauren Baker (4:27.39, 15th) each made the B Final, while junior Noelle Tarazona (4:29.48, 17th) and sophomore Arlyn Upshaw (4:30.87, 22nd) reached the C Final.

In the 100 Butterfly, a pair of Bruins reached the A Final, as senior Ting Quah was fourth after the prelims with a 55.00 and sophomore Katie Kinnear sixth following a 55.43. Three UCLA swimmers advanced to the B Final, Tarazona (56.07, 11th), sophomore Madison Applegate (56.12, 14th) and Senko (56.21, 16th), while Upshaw (57.31, 32nd) and freshman Linnea Mack (57.42, 34th) made the D Final.

Seven Bruins made the evening finals in the 200 Freestyle. Loper was eighth in the morning session after swimming a 1:49.71. The trio of Quah (1:50.54, 12th), sophomore Katy Campbell (1:50.61, 13th) and junior Monica Dornick (1:51.49, 15th) made the B Final, freshman Michaela Merlihan (1:52.19, 20th) was in the C Final and White (32nd, 1:53.25) and Milligan (33rd, 1:53.36) made the D Final.

All six UCLA swimmers advanced to the evening session in the 100 Breaststroke, with freshman Brigitte Winkler going 1:04.15, which was eighth. Freshman Ashley Tse made the B Final with a 10th-best 1:04.46, junior Jessica Khojasteh (1:05.41, 21st) reached the C Final and junior Taylor Carlson (1:06.69, 28th), freshman Maggie Burton (1:06.70, 29th) and senior Emily Weir (1:07.52, 34th) advanced to the D Final.

In the last swim of the morning, White had the sixth-best time in the 100 Backstroke with a 55.70. A pair of Bruins, senior Jesse Bergman (56.41, 11th) and Kinnear (56.56, 13th) reached the B Final, while Mack (57.36, 23rd) and freshman Nina Hayes (57.38, 24th) made the C Final.

The evening session began with the 200 Medley Relay, as the Bruin quartet of White, Winkler, Quah and Mack placed fourth with a time of 1:42.22. In the 400 IM B Final, Milligan improved one spot from the prelims to 10th with a 4:22.48, while Baker was also up one position to 14th (4:25.54). Tarazona (4:21.57) cut nearly eight seconds off her morning time to win the C Final and Upshaw (4:23.52) shaved six seconds off to place second in the same race.

In the A Final of the 100 Fly, Quah was fifth with a 54.95, while Kinnear was right behind her in sixth (55.11). The trio of Bruins in the B race were 10th (Senko, 54.45, NCAA 'B' qualifying time), 12th (Tarazona, 55.08) and 15th (Applegate, 55.95). Upshaw won the D Final with a 56.22, while Mack was 29th (57.37).

Loper posted the best Bruin finish of the night with a fourth-place showing in the 200 Free in a time of 1:49.04. Quah won the B Final with a 1:48.92, followed by Campbell (1:49.52, 11th) and Dornick (1:53.47, 16th) in that race. Merlihan placed 19th overall with a 1:50.43, Milligan was 27th (1:51.94) and White 28th (1:52.18).

Winkler was seventh in the A Final of the 100 Breast with a time of 1:04.38. In the B Final, Tse was 12th overall with a 1:03.61, while Khojasteh won the C Final with a 1:03.67 (17th). In the D race, Carlson was 25th (1:05.54), Burton 28th (1:06.73) and Weir 32nd (1:07.27).

White was seventh in the 100 Back A Final with a 54.86, an NCAA 'B' qualifying time. In the B race, Bergman (14th, 56.97) was just ahead of Kinnear (15th, 57.06), while in the C Final, Mack was 19th (56.61) and Hayes 23rd (58.40). The evening finished with a fourth-place finish in the 800 Free Relay, as Senko, Baker, Dornick and freshman Hayden Walker had a 7:27.30.

The meet closes on Saturday with the morning prelims in the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast and 200 Fly. The 1650 Free opens up the evening session, which features the above mentioned four individual finals, as well as the 400 Free Relay.
