Brett Hundley to Return for Junior Season
By: UCLA Athletics
LOS ANGELES – UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley will return for his junior season, the Chandler, Ariz., native announced on Monday. With the return of one of the most prolific quarterbacks in program history, the Hundley-led Bruins aim for a championship season in 2014.

Hundley capped off a stellar sophomore campaign by leading UCLA to a 42-12 victory over Virginia Tech in the 80th Hyundai Sun Bowl on Dec. 31. The signal-caller accounted for four total touchdowns on the strength of 161 yards rushing on 10 carries with two scores en route to being named the co-MVP. He also passed for 226 yards and two touchdowns. His 161 yards on the ground were a Sun Bowl record for a quarterback.

In just two seasons under center, Hundley has ascended up the UCLA annals at a rapid pace. Hundley ranks third in UCLA history with 7,914 yards of total offense and fourth in passing yards with 6,811. His 53 passing touchdowns and 566 completions also rank third in school history.

Hundley possesses the top two single season marks in school history in total offense with 4,095 yards as a redshirt freshman and 3,819 yards this past year. His 3,740 yards passing in 2012 were the most by any Bruin quarterback, and his 3,071 yards in the air this year rank fifth all-time.

The 6-3 quarterback has been one of the most efficient passers in the Pac-12, as Hundley led the conference with a 66.8 completion percentage, following up a 66.5 mark as a freshman that ranked third in the Pac-12. He also holds the school's top two single-season marks for completions.

Hundley became the first Bruin in school history to pass, rush and catch a touchdown in a single game, as he helped lead the Bruins to a 34-27 win on the road at Utah. He also paced the Bruins in rushing this past season with 748 yards and 11 touchdowns.

UCLA's 10 wins in 2013 are the most by a Bruin squad since 2005. The 19 wins Hundley has compiled under center the past two seasons are the most by a UCLA quarterback since Cade McNown totaled 20 wins over the course of the 1997 and 1998 seasons.
