UCLA Women in Second Place in Capital One Cup Fall Standings
By: UCLA Athletics
The UCLA women ended the fall sports season ranked No. 2 in the Capital One Cup standings thanks to the NCAA Championship won by the women's soccer team.

UCLA's soccer championship netted 60 points for the Bruins, who are currently just two points behind first-place Penn State.

The UCLA men, which won the Capital One Cup in 2012-13, are ranked 19th with 17 points, which were earned by soccer (9) and water polo (8).

The Capital One Cup honors the top Division 1 women’s and men’s college athletics programs in the country. Schools earn points based on their teams’ top 10 finishes in NCAA Division I championships and in final official coaches’ polls across 20 women’s and 19 men’s sports as they compete to win the Capital One Cup trophy and a combined $400,000 in scholarships for student-athletes.

The Capital One Cup winners will be determined at the end of the spring season and honored at the ESPY Awards in July. Last year, new winners emerged when UCLA won on the men’s side and North Carolina claimed the women’s Cup after the Stanford women and Florida men earned the Capital One Cup the previous two years.
