COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UCLA men and women’s track and field teams placed fifth in the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational that was held in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium this weekend. The 10th ranked women compiled 72 points while the men’s squad totaled 62 points.

The men recorded eight top-5 finishes with one overall victory while the women also tallied eight top-5 finishes and won two events.

“The two highlights of the meet for the women and the men were; Kylie Price who had ran an excellent race in the 60, and beat some very fast ladies including sprinters from LSU, TCU, Texas A&M,” director of track and field Mike Maynard said. “Nick Scarvelis threw a new lifetime PR of 62-4.50 in the shot put, and won the meet on his last throw.”

Leading the way for the Bruins with an individual win on the men’s side was Nicholas Scarvelis in the shot put. Scarvelis, heaved the shot a lifetime-best 62-4.50 on his last attempt to earn the lone UCLA win. Freshman Braheme Days followed in the event to place fourth with a mark of 59-2.
