LOS ANGELES -- The USC Trojans swept the UCLA Bruins this season with a 68-54 win on Saturday afternoon at Galen Center to improve to 15-9 overall and 8-4 in the Pac-12, while the Bruins fell to 11-13 overall and 5-7 in league play.

USC jumped out to a 13-4 lead as the Bruins opend the game shooting 2-for-12 in the first eight minutes with four turnovers. The Bruins trimmed the lead to five (18-13), but USC managed to build a 27-15 advantage with 4:50 to go in the first half. The Trojans held their largest lead of the half at the break, 33-20.

In the first half, Cassie Harberts led USC with 10 points and seven rebounds while UCLA was led by Atonye Nyingifa's nine points and five rebounds. Corinne Costa had five huge blocks, but the Bruins were outrebounded, 25-18, and outshot from the field, 40.0% to 26.7% in the opening 20 minutes.

The Trojans pushed the lead to 22 points (50-28) with 11:35 to go on a layup by Kate Oliver. UCLA responded with a 14-2 run of its own that included eight points from Nyingifa as the Bruins trimmed the lead to 10 points (52-42) with 6:37 to go, but would get no closer.

Atonye Nyingifa led all scorers with 25 points and nine rebounds. Thea Lemberger was the only other Bruin to reach double figures with 12 points. Corinne Costa tied her career and UCLA record with seven blocks for the fourth time in her career. The Bruins registered 12 blocks, one shy of the school-record 13 set agains California at home in 2011.

Cassie Harberts led USC with 17 points and nine rebounds. Ariya Crook was the only other Trojan to reach double figures with 10 points.

The Trojans won the battle of the boards, 41-39 and turnovers, 13-15. UCLA ended the game shooting 33.9 percent from the floor (20-for-59), compared to 43.1 percent (28-for-65) for USC.

The Bruins head to Oregon next week as UCLA takes on Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., on Feb. 14 at 7:00 p.m. The Bruins will then face Oregon in Eugene, Ore., on Feb. 17 at 4:00 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks.
