The 16-team field features all of the nation’s top programs, including top-ranked USC, No. 2 Stanford and fourth-ranked California. The Bruins (12-1) are grouped in Pool C with San Diego State, Hawaii and UC San Diego. UCLA has not played any of the teams in its group this season.
UCLA enters the tournament following a 6-5 road victory over UC Irvine on Feb. 13. In that game, the Bruins scored three fourth-quarter goals to edge the Anteaters, who led throughout most of the game. Top goal scorers for the Bruins were junior Emily Donohoe and freshman Mackenzie Barr with two goals apiece.
Leading scorers for the Bruins this season are Donohoe with 25 goals, junior Becca Dorst with 21 and sophomore Alys Williams with 17.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Sami Hill leads the Bruins in the cage, allowing 4.78 goals per game, second in the conference. She has recorded 106 saves.
As a team the Bruins are scoring 13.0 goals per game and allowing just 5.4, third best in the league.
