Jordan Adams had 21 points and eight rebounds, and Norman Powell scored 15 points in his hometown to lead fourth-seeded UCLA to a 76-59 victory over 13th-seeded Tulsa on Friday night at Viejas Arena in San Diego, Calif. UCLA (27-8) advances to Sunday's third round in the South region against 12th-seeded Stephen F. Austin, which upset No. 5 VCU 77-75 in overtime. The game will tip off a 4:10 pm and will be televised on TBS. In his first year at Westwood, Steve Alford coached the Bruins to just their third win in the NCAA tournament since 2009. Jordan Adams scored 19 points and UCLA beat Stephen F. Austin 77-60 on Sunday to reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. The fourth-seeded Bruins (28-8) will play Florida, the tournament's overall top seed, in the South Regional semifinals on Thursday in Memphis. First-year coach Steve Alford has won as many NCAA tournament games in three days as the Bruins had in the previous five seasons combined. Stephen F. Austin (32-3), the No. 12 seed, had its 29-game winning streak snapped. The Lumberjacks hadn't lost in exactly four months.

Florida advanced to this year's Sweet Sixteen following a pair of double-digit victories over Albany and Pittsburgh in the NCAA first and second rounds, respectively. In the team's 67-55 win over Albany, senior forward Casey Prather and backup forward Dorian Finney-Smith each scored 16 points. Senior center Patric Young had his first double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds (Albany Recap). Florida came back on Saturday to down Pittsburgh, 61-45. Scottie Wilbekin poured in a game-high 21 points, 13 coming in the second half, including eight straight inside the final five minutes (Pittsburgh Recap).




The fourth-seeded UCLA men's basketball team downed 13th-seeded Tulsa, 76-59 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on March 21 at Viejas Arena in San Diego, Calif. The Bruins followed that up with a 77-60 win over No. 12 Stephen F. Austin on March 23, setting up a Sweet Sixteen showdown with top-seeded Florida on March 27 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:45 p.m.(CT). The game will be televised live by CBS.
