"Not only does the StubHub Center provide us with a first-class facility to showcase UCLA Football, it is located in an area that allows us to expand our footprint in the Los Angeles market," said UCLA head football coach Jim Mora. "We practice in Westwood, play our games in Pasadena and train during the summer in San Bernardino. This Showcase is a great opportunity for our fans down south to watch the Bruins play in their own backyard."
The Spring Showcase wraps up a spring practice slate for the Bruins that will begin on Tuesday, April 1. All spring practices are open to the public on a first-come-first-served basis until capacity is reached, with the exception of the session on Saturday, April 12, which is closed to the general public. Seating at Spaulding Field, located on the UCLA campus, is limited. Standing room only observation areas will be available to later-arriving spectators.
The Bruins are coming off a convincing 42-12 victory over Virginia Tech at the Sun Bowl and a school-record tying 10-win season in 2013. Head coach Jim Mora’s squad returns Heisman Trophy candidate Brett Hundley behind center, the first-ever Pac-12 Offensive/Defensive Freshman of the Year in Myles Jack, six players who earned Freshman All-American honors and 15 All-Pac-12 performers.
After finishing the 2013 campaign ranked 16th in the country, early polls place UCLA in the top-10 to start the 2014 season. The season opener is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, against Virginia in Charlottesville.
