LOS ANGELES - The sixth-ranked Bruins put an end to a two-match losing streak with a 3-2 win at the University of San Francisco on Thursday afternoon at Piper Park in Larkspur, Calif. UCLA improved to 4-2 on the year while USF dropped to 1-2.

The UCLA No.1 doubles pair of Kamila Tan and Jessyka Ngauamo improved to 4-2 on the year with a straight-set victory (23-21, 21-11) over USF's Sara Staengle and Valentina Zaloznik to clinch the win for the Bruins.

At #2 doubles, the Dons' Malina Terrell and Jura Vlasic defeated UCLA's Zoë Nightingale and Madie Smith, 21-15, 21-16. The Bruin pair are now 1-5 overall at the two slot.

Taylor Formico and Karsta Lowe rallied from a 13-8 deficit in the second set to post a 2-0 win over USF's Katarina Pilepic and Courtney Sabahi (21-12, 27-25. Lowe and Formico won their first match of the year and are now 1-2 overall (1-1 at No. 3 doubles and 0-1 at No. 4 doubles).

At #4 doubles, Skylar Dykstra and Jennie Frager dropped a straight set match (15-21, 16-21) to the USF duo of Rebecca Kopilovitch and Anja Segota. The Bruin pair dropped to 2-4 overall and 2-3 at No. 4 doubles.

At #5 doubles, Karly Drolson and Rachel Inouye rallied to defeat the Dons' tandem of Emily Reed and Inbar Vinarsky to win a three-set match, 26-28, 21-9, 15-10. The duo improve to 4-2 on the year and 1-1 at #5 doubles.

The Bruins now head to Stanford for three matches on Saturday, March 29. The Bruins will open with a match against Santa Clara (2-1) at 9:00 a.m. on Stanford's campus at Arguello Park, located north of Wilbur Hall. The Bruins then take on the hosts, Stanford (0-3) at Noon at the ACSR Sand Volleyball Courts, located between Taube South and the Graduate School of Business. This is a change of the schedule with rain expected during the afternoon. The Bruins will then face No. 3 Hawai'i for the second time in three days at 3:00 p.m. at Arguello Park.

Sunday’s competition (March 30) will be a pairs tournament played on all four courts starting at 8 a.m. PT. Admission and parking is free. Competition will happen rain or shine. Fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets for seating.
