The Bruins posted five sub-70 rounds on the day and were deadlocked with the University of San Diego at 556 (-4). UCLA posted the lowest single round of the day in the morning round, a seven-under par 273. In third place was Washington at 558 (-2), followed by Arizona State at 561 (+1). Oregon State was fifth at three-over par 563.
Individually for UCLA, sophomore Jake Knapp and junior Preston Valder were tied for fifth place at two-under par 138. Knapp posted a pair of 69s and Valder recorded scores of 68-70. Sophomore Lorens Chan carded scores of 69-71—140 (E) and was tied for 15th. Senior Anton Arboleda recorded rounds of 67-77—144 (+4) and was tied for 31st, and sophomore Jonathan Garrick was tied for 59th at 149 following scores of 76-73. Playing as an individual, junior Jay Hwang was tied for 11th at 139 (-1) after posting scores of 67-72.
San Diego’s Grant Forest was the 36-hole leader at 12-under par 128 after firing scores of 65-65.
