LOS ANGELES - The sixth-ranked UCLA Bruins (6-6) conclude the regular season at the 2014 Beach Collegiate Challenge, hosted by USA Volleyball at 1300 The Strand, Hermosa Beach, Calif. The tournament will take place on April 12-13 and will feature collegiate sand teams from No. 1 USC, No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Hawai'i, No. 6 UCLA, Arizona, CSU Bakersfield, Loyola Marymount and Santa Clara.
The Bruins are 2-4 against the tournament field this season with wins over Santa Clara and CSU Bakersfield and losses to USC, Hawai'i (twice) and Loyola Marymount.
UCLA is in Pool A and is seeded 5th. Pool A consists of No. 1 USC, No. 4 LMU, No. 5 UCLA and No. 8 Santa Clara. Pool B includes No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Hawai'i, No. 6 CSU Bakersfield and No. 7 Arizona.
The Bruins open pool play at 10:00 a.m. on April 12 on courts 7-11 with No. 4 LMU. After a bye at 11:00 a.m., UCLA will face No. 1 USC at Noon on courts 1-5. The Bruins will conclude pool play at 2:00 p.m. with No. 8 Santa Clara on courts 7-11.
Sunday's pairs tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes with the finals at 3:15 p.m.

The Bruins, under second year head coach Stein Metzger and assistants Jenny Johnson Jordan and Sarah Straton, are 9-13 overall in dual matches after going 3-7 last season. UCLA had a pair of teams reach the 2013 AVCA National Championships, Meg Norton and Kelly Reeves, as well as Nightingale and Becca Strehlow. Reeves became the first Bruin to earn AVCA All-America honors last year.
