Three Bruin Gymnasts Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors
By: UCLA Athletics
Three UCLA gymnasts were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic gymnastics team for 2014 - second-team honoree Samantha Peszek and honorable mention picks Danusia Francis and Ellette Craddock.

Peszek, a senior from Indianapolis, Ind. holds a 3.55 cumulative GPA in Communication Studies. This is Peszek's second All-Academic honor; she was previously honored in 2012. Peszek, the 2014 Pac-12 beam champion, is also an All-Pac-12 honoree on beam and a Regular Season All-American on bars and beam. She scored her first career perfect 10 on uneven bars on Feb. 8 and has twice earned career-high marks of 39.7 in the all-around.

Both Francis and Craddock pick up their first Pac-12 All-Academic awards. Francis, a sophomore from Kenilworth, England, was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection on beam, as well as a first-team regular season All-American. Francis scored a perfect 10 on beam on Mar. 16 and scored career-best marks of 9.9 on bars and floor at the NCAA Regional. Craddock, a redshirt sophomore from San Francisco, Calif., competed in nine meets this season, including the last two postseason meets. She has posted a career-high of 9.825 on beam twice this year.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
