WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – For the second straight week junior All-American Kylie Price has been recognized by the Pac-12 Conference as she was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
On the heels of being named the Pac-12 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week last week, Price earns the honor this time around after a spectacular meet this past weekend. Price won all four events she participated in at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on Saturday.
Price set season-bests in all her open events, starting with a win in the long jump, eclipsing the 21-foot mark for the first time this outdoor season, winning the event with a 21-1.25. She then ran the second leg of the winning 4x100-meter relay, which posted a time of 45.00. Price also recorded a time of 11.56 in the 100 meter before capping off her outing with a win in the 200 in a time of 23.90.
UCLA won the double-dual meet against TCU and BYU. It is Price’s second weekly honor this season, winning Pac-12 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week last week. The team will participate at the Mt. SAC Relays, beginning on Friday, April 18.
