LOS ANGELES - The fifth-seeded UCLA women's tennis team earned a spot in the round of 16 of the NCAA Championships on Saturday, notching a 4-0 victory over Ole Miss in an NCAA Second Round match at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins (23-2) now head to Athens, Georgia where they will take on 12th-seeded Miami (21-5) on Thursday, May 15 at 4:00 p.m. (PST). Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex will serve as this year's host of the NCAA Championships.

UCLA was paced on the day by its top two players in No. 2 Robin Anderson and No. 8 Jennifer Brady. The two players are also the top-ranked doubles team in America and they helped the Bruins clinch the doubles point with an 8-4 victory over Erin Stephens and Iris Verboven at court No. 1. UCLA's ninth-ranked Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips were also victorious in doubles, dispatching of Marija Milutinovic and Caroline Rohde-Moe, 8-3 at court No. 2.

In singles, Anderson lost just three games en route to a 6-2, 6-1 over Rhode-Moe at court No. 1, while Brady was equally as impressive at court No. 2, downing 97th-ranked Julia Jones, 6-1, 6-1. Brady extended her singles winning streak to 21 with the victory.

With UCLA leading 3-0, 13th-ranked Chanelle Van Nguyen posted the clinching win for UCLA at court No. 4, where she beat Mai El Kamash, 6-1, 6-3.

The Bruins were leading the remaining three singles matches when play was suspended, with McPhillips (court No. 3), Harrison (court No. 5) and Kaitlin Ray (court No. 6) all up a set at their respective courts.

UCLA won the doubles point for the 25th straight time this season on Saturday.

The last time UCLA and Miami squared off in women's tennis was in the second round of the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors in 2013, a 4-2 Bruin victory. The last NCAA Tournament meeting between the two teams was in the round of 16 in 2009. Miami won that match 4-2. Miami is coached by former UCLA player Paige Yaroshuk-Tews.
