UCLA Athletics finished 2013-14 seventh overall in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup for its third consecutive Top-10 Finish and saw the women’s program place second in the Capital One Cup standings for the second time in the last three years.

The Bruins had another strong year, with 10 teams earning Top 10 NCAA finishes, including five in the Top 5, and two – women's soccer and women's tennis – capturing UCLA’s record 110th and 11th NCAA Championships.

While the UCLA men handed over their 2012-13 Capital One Cup title to Notre Dame, which earned its first-ever Capital One Cup victory, the UCLA women finished ahead of third-place Stanford but behind Capital One Cup Champion Florida. The Capital One Cup is awarded annually to each of the best men's and women's Division I college athletics programs in the country. Points toward the Capital One Cup are earned and tracked throughout the year based on final standings of NCAA Championships and final official coaches' polls. A UCLA men's or women's team has finished in the Top 2 in three of the four years the Capital One Cup has been in existence.

In the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup, UCLA earned its third consecutive Top 10 finish, placing seventh with 1078.50 points, ahead of eighth-place USC. The Directors' Cup, which is presented annually by the National Association of Collegiate Athletic Directors (NACDA), was won by Stanford, which totaled 1482.00 points. The Director's Cup honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's. It was started in 1993-94 for Division I by NACDA and USA Today. UCLA has finished among the Top 7 schools in the final rankings in 19 of the award's 21 years.
