UCLABruins.com will update and highlight select UCLA players' progress during the current MLS season. Games highlighted are from Wednesday, May 29th, through Monday, June 3rd. Amongst other strong performances this weekend, UCLA alumnus and current member of the New England Revolution Kelyn Rowe was nominated by the MLS for the Goal of the Week after his spectacular curling effort against the LA Galaxy. Bruin fans looking to help Kelyn out can view the goal and vote for his success here. Results will be posted on Friday.

The Bruins lead all universities with 21 alumni in MLS. Teams featuring former Bruins include the New England Revolution, Seattle Sounders, LA Galaxy, Vancouver Whitecaps, Real Salt Lake, Sporting Kansas City, Colorado Rapids, Philadelphia Union, New York Red Bulls, and Portland Timbers.

New England Revolution

Chad Barrett (Years played at UCLA: 2003-04)
Barrett would build upon the success of last week, appearing and scoring in New England's rout of LA, the second time Barrett had scored and New England had won 5-0 in as many games. Barrett came on late, replacing Diego Fagundez in the 88th minute, but Barrett would take full advantage and tally in the first minute of added time. Fellow former Bruin Kelyn Rowe found Chad unmarked at the top of the box, where the MLS veteran unloaded on the keeper to notch his first MLS goal of the season and give Rowe his second assist of the night.
Barrett's current 2013 MLS season stats: 4GP/1GS, 78 minutes, 1 goal, 0 assists, 1 shots, 1 SOG

Kelyn Rowe (Years played at UCLA: 2010-11)
Rowe shined for the second consecutive week, logging 33 incredibly impressive minutes in a 5-0 rout of the LA Galaxy. Rowe, after replacing Jaun Carlos Toja in the 57th minute, would provide solid attacking support for a while, but then unleashed a firestorm. In the 7-minute stretch between the 87th and 94th, Rowe would create two goals and score one of his own. Kelyn assisted for Diego Fagundez in the 87th on a silky give-and-go before setting up fellow Bruin Chad Barrett in the 91st. Not satisfied with his output already, Rowe unleashed a beautiful curling strike in the 94th that effectively ended the game and sent fans into a frenzy. The effort has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week; Bruin fans can vote for him here.
