Stanford, Calif. - Senior Vanessa Zamarripa scored her seventh career perfect 10 on vault to help lead No. 4 UCLA to a 196.925-196.200 victory at No. 11 Stanford on Saturday. Zamarripa won the all-around with a season-high-tying score of 39.675 and also won the vault and floor exercise. Freshman Danusia Francis won the balance beam with a career-high-tying 9.925.

UCLA trailed Stanford after the first rotation, scoring 49.075 on uneven bars to the Cardinal's 49.2 on vault. Zamarripa and Olivia Courtney scored 9.8.

The Bruins claimed the lead at the end of rotation two after scoring 49.3 on vault, led by Zamarripa's 10.0 on a big, high and perfectly stuck Yurchenko layout full. Kaelie Baer (9.85) and Courtney (9.875) set Zamarripa up well with well-scoring vaults. The Cardinal suffered two falls in the back end of its rotation on uneven bars to relinquish its lead.

UCLA held its ground in the third rotation, scoring 49.325 on floor exercise. The Bruins had all six routines score 9.825 or higher, with Alyssa Pritchett (9.875), Zamarripa (9.925) and Courtney (9.85) closed strong for the Bruins.

With three scores of 9.85 or higher on balance beam in the final rotation, UCLA finished strong with a score of 49.225 to securethe victory. Baer led off with a 9.8, followed by a 9.75 from Lichelle Wong, 9.85 from DeJesus, 9.9 from Zamarripa and 9.925 from Francis. Stanford's 49.05 on floor wasn't nearly enough to catch the Bruins, who improved to 4-0 on the year.

"It's easy to compete at home; the true test of a strong team is how we compete away from home," said UCLA head coach Valorie Kondos Field. "The last two meets, I've been very impressed with our athletes for keeping the energy up, staying in their Bruin Bubble and not letting little bumps in road detract us from our goal, which is to maintain team synergy. It was fun to have our competitors and exhibition athletes do so well today."

The Bruins return home on Sunday, Feb. 10 for a quad meet, hosting Washington, UC Davis and Sacramento State in Pauley Pavilion at 2 pm.
