The All-American has been nursing a shoulder injury but made her season debut on the event and scored 9.85. UCLA's 49.225 total gave the team a 98.525 two-event score, which put the Bruins ahead of second-place Washington by 0.375.

In rotation three, the Bruins put a little bit of distance between themselves and Huskies, scoring 49.075 on beam to Washington's 48.85 on floor. The final four competitors each scored 9.825 or higher, with Courtney and Francis tying for first place with 9.875s, Larson scoring 9.85 and Zamarripa 9.825.
