TUCSON, Ariz. - Sophomore Ally Carda hit two home runs, while senior B.B. Bates, sophomores Gracie Goulder and Stephany LaRosa and freshmen Brittany Moeai and Mysha Sataraka also left the yard, as the 18th-ranked Bruins tied a school record with seven homers in a 13-3 romp over #22 Arizona on Friday at Hillenbrand Stadium.

The seven home runs tied a school record. UCLA hit a septet of dingers on Feb. 18, 2007 against Wright State and April 26, 2009 at Arizona State. The Bruins also had a season high in hits with 16 and tied for the second-most runs in a game this season (14).

Six different players had multiple-hit games, as LaRosa, Moeai and Sataraka each had three, while Bates, Carda and Goulder recorded two apiece.

Junior Jessica Hall (5-5) earned the complete-game win, striking out eight and allowing three runs, six hits and four walks. She had a 1-2-3 inning in the fourth and a pair of strikeouts in the second and fourth.

The home run barrage began with two outs in the first inning, as Carda hit her first of the game and second in as many at-bats off the batter's eye in center field. It was the sophomore's 13th homer of the season and extended her school-record streak of games reaching base to 34.

UCLA added three more homers in the second. Sataraka started off the inning with a homer to right, her fourth of the season, to make it 2-0. Two outs later, Goulder doubled down the left-field line, freshman Allexis Bennett walked and LaRosa launched her 10th homer of the year to right to extend UCLA's advantage to 5-0. Bates would line out to third, which appeared to end the inning, but an illegal pitch called on Arizona's Nancy Bowling extended things, as Bates eventually drew a walk. Carda then hit her second homer of the evening, third in as many at-bats and 14th of the year, this time over the batter's eye in center field to make it 7-0.

In the third, the Bruins hit their fifth homer of the game, as Goulder got into the act with a one-out shot to left, her third of the season, to make it 8-0.

The Wildcats scratched one across with a run in their half of the third. With one out, Hallie Wilson walked, moved to second on a sacrifice by Chelsea Suitos and scored on a single to left from Kelsey Rodriguez to make it 8-1.

The Bruins hit two more bombs in the sixth to equal the school record. Bates led off the frame with her 17th of the season to center to make it 9-1. One out later, Moeai produced the first of her career to center to get the Bruins to double figures.

Arizona avoided the mercy rule with a pair in the bottom of the sixth. Chelsea Goodacre led off with a single to right, moved to second on a ground out and scored on a homer to center by Lauren Young to make it 10-3.

The Bruins added three more in the seventh. With one out, LaRosa singled up the middle and Bates singled to right. With sophomore Kaelin Sprawls running at second for LaRosa, Carda lifted a fly ball to center, but it was dropped by Alex Lavine, as Sprawls came in to score to make it 11-3. After a Moeai walk loaded the bases, Sataraka doubled to left-center to bring home Bates and Carda to make it 13-3.

The Bruins and the Wildcats conclude their three-game series on Saturday at 6 p.m. The contest will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks (live on Pac-12 L.A. and Arizona, tape delayed at 10 p.m. on Pac-12 National). Gametracker will also be available at, along with live updates at
