LOS ANGELES - The sixth-ranked Bruins dropped their third consecutive match, 4-1, at No. 5 Long Beach State on Tuesday afternoon at the LBSU Sand Courts. UCLA droped to 6-6 on the year while Long Beach State improved to 7-4.

The No. 5 doubles team of Karly Drolson and Rachel Inouye improved to 8-4 on the year in duals with a three-set win over the 49ers' Ciana Wagner and Morea Wagner (21-17, 17-21, 16-14). The Bruin pair trailed 13-10 in the third before winning six of the last seven points to win the match. Drolson led with a double-double of 17 kills and 15 digs while Inouye added 13 kills and 11 digs. Ciana Wagner had 24 kills and 14 digs to lead Long Beach State.

At #1 doubles, former Bruin Bojana Todorovic and her partner Delainey Aigner-Swesey, defeated the UCLA tandem of Kamila Tan and Jessyka Ngauamo, 21-16, 21-13. Ngauamo had 14 kills and six digs while Tan contributed seven kills, two digs and two aces. Todorovic had a match-high 15 kills and added six digs and two aces to lead the 49er duo.

The #4 doubles team of freshmen Skylar Dykstra and Jennie Frager dropped a straight-set match, 21-14, 21-17, to the 49ers' Jenelle Hudson and Alex Reid. Dykstra had 12 kills, eight digs and one ace for the Bruins while Frager had seven kills, five blocks and three digs. Reid had 19 kills, three digs and two blocks for LBSU while her partner had five kills, 10 digs and seven aces.

The Bruins' duo of junior Karsta Lowe and sophomore Taylor Formico dropped a two-set match (21-12, 21-18) to LBSU's Bre Mackie and Chelsea Cabrajac at #3 doubles. Lowe had a match-high 19 kills to go with five digs and one block while Formico added two kills, seven digs and one ace. Mackie led the 49er duo with 13 kills, four aces, two digs and one block.

Tyler Jackson and Janisa Johnson defeated the Bruins' duo of junior Zoë Nightingale and senior Madie Smith, 21-12, 21-6 at No. 2 doubles. Johnson had 13 kills, 10 digs and three aces to lead the Long Beach pair. Smith had five kills, three digs and a block while Nightingale tallied seven kills and two digs for UCLA.

The Bruins will finish off the week in their final tournament of the regular season, taking part in the 2014 Beach Collegiate Challenge, hosted by USA Volleyball at 1300 The Strand, Hermosa Beach, Calif. The tournament will take place on April 12-13 and will feature collegiate sand teams from No. 1 USC, No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Hawai'i, No. 6 UCLA, Arizona, CSU Bakersfield, Loyola Marymount and Santa Clara.
