Bruins in Third Place at Erin Hills Intercollegiate

The sixth-ranked UCLA men’s golf team was in third place following the second round of the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, hosted by Marquette University at the Erin Hills GC in Erin, WI.

The Bruins posted a team score of 294 (+6) for a 36-hole total of 580 (+4), 15 shots behind first-place Stanford. The Cardinal increased its lead with another sub-par round, posting a 285 (-3) on Monday for a two-round score of 656 (-11). Southern Methodist was second at even par 576. Oklahoma and Northwestern were tied for fourth at 581 (+5).

Junior Manav Shah was the only UCLA player under par through 36 holes. He was tied for eighth place at 143 (-1) following his round of 72 on Monday. Tied for 14th at 145 (+1) were senior Anton Arboleda and sophomore Lorens Chan. Both players posted scores of 74 (+2). Also carding a 74 was sophomore Jonathan Garrick, who was tied for 36th at 149 (+5). Junior Jay Hwang had the drop score on Monday, signing for a 77 (+5). He was in 45th place at 150 (+6).

Sophomore Aaron Kunitomo, playing as an individual, posted a 71 (-1) and improved his standing to a tie for 36th place with Garrick.

SMU’s Bryce Dechambeau and Stanford’s Patrick Rodgers were tied for first place at four-under par 140.
